This is a composite of 2 photos taken within a second or two apart focused on the same setting i.e. Chinook smolts attempting to leap a .75 meter falls. As anyone who has tried photographing jumping fish would know, it is more miss than hit. Most successes occur when you press the shutter before a fish breaks the surface. That means a whole lot of luck...and perseverance...and patience.
