  • I'm a freelance photographer living on the Central Coast of BC and drawn to the wildlife and landscapes of the area. I was principal photographer for the book Bella Coola: Life in the Heart of the Coast Mountains and co-principal photographer for Birds of the Raincoast.

    All images in my galleries are low res copies of the original files. I upload sample files to this site on a regular basis.

Mike, everytime I come on your website and view your amazing photography, I'm overwhelmed by the beauty. I love the way you capture all the fabulous textures and colours of nature. To me, your nature photos exude the fundamental concept that ALL existance is so very precious. A visit to your site reguevenates the soul. Thanks so very much.

Very beautiful work, and I'll love seeing much more in near future. Would be happy to have you as a friend on Facebook, or in person. My cabin door is open to you anytime even if I'm not there, but I would be so happy to meet you in person, and spend time around a campfire. I know I could learn so much more about the most beautiful place you call home there. When I'm there in Bella Coola Valley as a visiter, I want to do everything possible to be wanted back. I fully understand the less human interaction taken place between the animals, the better it is for both. I know a fed bear is not only a dead bear, but can create problems to humans too. I'm trying to learn what's best for us all. I want to get it right the first time.
OH- my cabin, 3,000 miles from where I live in north Louisiana, is on the other side of the Island- Grant Road, and accessable only by the river. Your welcome to use it if it's close to an area you want to work in, but you would need to contact Barry Andy or Barney Kern there to get their OK too. I gave them full control & useage. Barry Andy (Nuxalk) is my guide, cabin builder, & takes me in his skiff. Perhaps you have heard of my neighbor Ralph N. who I have yet to meet, but understand is a unique individual. Please note Ralph likes knowing about anything taken place on his land, on my west side. My best to you sir!
